Opening the Event: Yaron Tchwella, President of Comverse

The first day of sessions opened with President Yaron Tchwella presenting the Comverse vision of today, while recalling where the company was back in 2000. Even then Comverse stated its vision as a world in which personalized communications enrich the quality of life. Today in 2007 we continue to be an expert in understanding global communication needs with the foresight of answers for tomorrow’s challenges. The presentation focused on the most significant changes in the telecommunications market which are: convergence, new business models and lifestyle. With the issue of Convergence permeating everywhere whether it be devices, pre/postpaid billing, customer self-service, voice/data networks, fixed/mobile networks or IT/network, operators must address convergence. The old wisdom of looking solely to voice and messaging is gone and operators must move on to becoming triple or quad players for profitability. And finally, subscribers’ lifestyle changes that drive the demand for additional self-expression, personalization and differentiation, influence the telecom market extensively.

Comverse has been and continues to be a leader in lifestyle shaping; and many examples of this leadership may be seen with our innovative product portfolio, such as: Multimedia Ringback Tone that reflects users’ personal tastes and gives callers some insight to the callers’ personality; Klonies and Avatars Callers ID in Second Life and in real life; Converged Billing that enables multiple identities, pre- and postpaid billing solutions in the same family unit or business and many others.
