Comverse Sharpens its SMS Competitive Edge with IBM BladeCenter® Technology
A very good thing just got better.

Comverse’s SMSC solution, which has many advantages that have already made it an industry leader that supports trillions of messages annually for more than 200 customers and more than half a billion end users worldwide, has now been improved by the incorporation of IBM BladeCenter® Technology.
The modular blade server design is environmentally friendly, a “green” solution that significantly reduces energy requirements. It generates less heat and uses much less floor space — all while providing superior performance. Blade servers can reduce costs while boosting availability and productivity and simplifying management. Moreover, the new technology speeds up key service-related tasks: deploying, updating, troubleshooting and more.
Moreover, the future-proof solution supports usage of the most updated CPU power.
Mega-Capacity with a Small Footprint
Comverse’s Director of Product Management Dror Gafinovitz said, “Integration of this cutting-edge technology enables us to deliver mega-capacity with a small footprint and low power consumption. We can now more easily consolidate a number of small systems into one centralized system with a holistic view of SMS traffic. The solution is highly scalable to support future expansions in usage and services.”
The new IBM BladeCenter Technology has been fully integrated into the SMSC solution, and has already been deployed by Comverse. The recent first deployment for a large European operator was a resounding success -- when announced, it will be an important reference.
Through a newly-signed technology and services agreement, Comverse is partnering with IBM to help telecommunications service providers worldwide reduce operational costs, increase efficiencies and drive growth.
